“Quincunx”

Pronounced “keen-koon-say”.

An Aztec symbol consisting of a circle with four petals. It is associated both with divinity and kingship.

Although some symbols are repreated on Our Lady’s gown, the quincunx is found only once on the image of Our Lady, directly over her abdomen.
